Research Question #9
What kinds of accommodations, if any, did the survivors receive at school and at work?
School accommodations.
Fifty percent (15 of 30) participants had had school or college experience since their TBI’s and were able to discuss the types of modifications and accommodations they had received. Seventy-three percent (11 of 15) reported that they had been provided with some modifications. Twenty-seven percent (4 of 15) who reported needing modifications stated that they did not receive them. Table 9 reports the modifications and accommodations received at school.

Three individuals (30%) reported more subjective types of accommodations at work. One stated there was “tolerance" for her disability. Another said there was “considerateness” about it. A third reported purposely being exposed now to less stimulation on the job.
