What devices have the survivors found most useful in coping with their TBI-engendered deficit areas? Twenty-eight survivors participated in the question regarding devices they utilized to help them compensate for deficits after traumatic brain injury. They reported the use of many devices also employed by any individual seeking to be organized and efficient in life. See Table 11.

Specialized equipment mentioned included quad canes, wheelchairs, crutches, special photo-gray glasses, port-a-potty, walker, and stationary walkers. Two individuals mentioned that they dept diaries of daily happenings to keep on track. One individual had developed her own personal memory system. Another found a palmtop computer to be especially helpful.
